Washington 08/2007 - Freelands - Day 4

We leave Oregon and head north to pick up the boat at Bellingham, Washington. Normally, we sail, but poor winds in the Puget Sound forced us to charter a motor yacht, CARIBE.

This was an older boat, manufactured in the 1970s in Hong Kong, but it was very comfortable (and with one exception reliable).

This is the salon (and where we made Hale sleep).

The inside Bridge.

This is my cabin; it was very comfortable.

This cubby hole is where Jason laid his head (and all of his stuff).

The girls took the forward cabin (men not allowed!!).

This is the flying bridge, and where Hale was usually at the helm.

Some pretty harbor flowers.

Dining out.

A pirate ship was after us.

The Puget Sound is beautiful.

When Cynthia and Hale were not on duty,

they were very relaxed (what's that in Cynthia's hand?)

The first stop was Sucia Island (no services on the island).

The beach was rocky and loggy.

Here is a bay where we went exploring.

Some folk just can't stay out of the water.

Planning the next day's travels.

Don't you hear the Gilligan's Island tune as you watch Father and Son set out in a tiny boat.
