Oregon 07/2008 Parker - Day 8

We leave Hood River and make our way to McMinneville to visit the Evergreen Air Museum. Parker and I met Briell there. She is Mark and Shellie Houston's daughter, from Cascade Presbyterian, who recently moved to the area from Eugene and worked at the the Museum.

This is Howard Hughes' flying boat, the Spruce Goose.

The Spruce Goose has four (4) engines on each wing. It is a huge airplane.

This is an old Ford Tri-Motor.

This is the super sonic spy plane, the Black Bird.

They had a German V-2 Rocket from World War II.

They also had a Minuteman Missile.

It is obvious that the folks at Evergreen Aviation have some good government and military contacts. Our trip comes to a close, and Parker drops me off at the Portland Airport for my return trip back to Mississippi.
